My illustrations I did of WARL's three office dogs, Lemmy, Vincent and Ruby, are finally up in reception. It's crazy seeing my work up for everyone to see.
My work on display at the Birmingham City University graduate show, SEED 16.
Over the past few day I've been experimenting with my new Colour Craft Brusho Crystal Colours. They are little tubs of colour pigment goodness which you can sprinkle over wet paper and watch them bleed and disperse within the water. They are so much fun to work with and you never know what your going to get and a little bit of pigment goes a long way.
I've also been using masking fluid with these, masking the paper where I want it to stay white then sprinkling these pigments in the remaining areas. The results create a strong contrast between the colours and the white.
This year, I got the opportunity to travel to Amsterdam with the university. It was such an amazing trip and city. With so much to see it was so easy to be inspired by our surroundings. I even got to try out my new Olympus Pen camera and fish eye lens and even tried out some night time photography. I loved Amsterdam at night, the streets really came to life and the canals reflected the city lights back at you.
On one of the days we visited the Van Gogh Museum, which was an incredible experience. Getting to see his paintings up close, see all the details and feeling so inspired. And near the Van Gogh museum was the Rijksmuseum. I loved the design of this building, with all its details, arches and even the inside was stunning.
Also on one of the days we decided to visit Rotterdam and saw some amazing architecture while we were walking around. The main reason we went to Rotterdam was to have a look at their amazing food market. The roof of this was jaw dropping, loved the floral illustration and the huge dome shape. So colourful.
It was such an inspirational trip, and with graduation around the corner, it was a little treat to celebrate my final year of university.
